3.7.1 Editing Attributes of a Single Document
Choosing
the Properties item in the context-sensitive menu allows you to add,
remove and modify the attributes of an object. Note that may not edit the
attributes of documents if you do not have write rights to the object, or if
you are not an identified user, or if the document is version-controlled and
checked in.
The properties (attributes) of an object are edited as follows:
- Click on the object whose properties you wish to change with your right
mouse button. A context-sensitive menu appears.
- Select Properties from the menu. The dialog box in Figure 19
appears. This dialog box lists all the attributes for the object. You may
modify attributes whose values have a white background. Attributes shown in
gray cannot be modified.
- To add a new attribute, select the attribute type from the listbox at the
bottom of the dialog box, or enter an attribute type manually here.
- Click on the Add button. The attribute you have chosen will appear
as a new pair of cells in the dialog box (you may have to scroll down to see
it).
- Add the required value for the attribute.
Note that if the attribute
you are adding is a Rights attribute, a button labeled Rights
Wizard will appear. You can use the Rights Wizard to help you set access
rights for different users. The Rights Wizard for Java Virtual Folders is
explained on
page
27.
- Click on the Apply button to apply the changes.
- To delete an attribute, select the attribute by clicking on it (a blue
line will appear around it) and then click on the Delete button. The
attribute will disappear from the listing.
- Click on the Apply button to apply the changes.
- Click on the OK button to exit the dialog box.
